What We Do / CNC Routing

CNC Routing

CNC Routing and Knife

Cutting for Complex Materials

From foam, wood and acrylic to aluminium and printed graphics, our CNC routing service cuts, profiles and finishes a wider range of materials than a standard router – on one machine, in-house.

ICEE's bystronic Fibre Laser cutting machine.
We operate a Trident CNC Router at our facility in Hampshire.

Capabilities

Our CNC Routing Capability

01 Triple Cutting Head Router spindle, tangential and oscillating knife in one carriage, so a single setup handles rigid and soft materials alike.
02 Vision Registration Print-to-cut accuracy that follows your printed artwork rather than guesswork, cutting exactly to the graphic.
03 Automatic Tool Changing Continuous running with minimal operator input, keeping cycle times down on longer production jobs.
04 Works From Your Files Compatible with virtually any CAD/CAM software, so we cut straight from your existing design data.

Our CNC router cuts parts for signage, transport, defence, construction and infrastructure. Every cut is checked against the drawing, because a millimetre out on the bed is a part that doesn’t fit.

How we work

From File to

Finished Cut

Send a drawing, part model or artwork – we handle the toolpaths, programming and cutting, and every part is checked against the drawing.

01
Prepare the cut file Toolpaths, cut sequence and tolerances worked out from your drawing, part model or artwork - you don't need to supply them.
02
Program offline Cutting programs built from your CAD before the sheet reaches the bed, so setup is fast and the first part is right.
03
Cut Routed and knife-cut on our triple-head CNC, with vision registration for print-to-cut and every part checked against the drawing.
04
Into the build Cut parts flow into finishing, coating and assembly - or ship as routed components, ready for yours.

Frequently asked questions

What materials can you cut on your CNC router?

A wide range – wood, HDU tooling board, acrylic, ACM (aluminium composite), aluminium, foam and printed graphics. The combination of a router spindle and knife cutting on one machine means we handle both rigid sheet and soft materials, so most jobs run without moving between machines.

What size sheets can you cut?

Our bed takes sheets up to 1219mm × 1524mm as standard, with extendable length for longer parts. If you’re not sure whether your part fits, send us the dimensions and we’ll confirm.

Do I need to supply cutting files or toolpaths?

No. Send us a drawing, a part model or your artwork and we’ll work out the toolpaths, cut sequence and tolerances. We program offline from your CAD, so you don’t need any CNC-specific files to get a finished part.

Can you cut printed graphics accurately to the print?

Yes. Our machine uses a vision registration system that reads your printed artwork and cuts exactly to it, rather than to a fixed position – so print-to-cut jobs come out aligned to the graphic even if the print has shifted slightly.

Can CNC routing be combined with your other services?

Yes. Cut parts flow straight into finishing, coating and assembly in-house, so you can order a finished, assembled product rather than just cut components — or take the routed parts on their own if you’re building yourself.
